Project description:
Visual guide in brochure format aimed at patients with ostomies,in order to facilitate the understanding and management of their ostomy and achieve greater personal independence. For this, texts have been used in easy reading with the support of pictograms of ARASAAC.
It has been proven, from professional experience, that visual supports help users, offer them security and greater clarity in the understanding of information.
The use of visual supports benefits all types of users and groups (including people with intellectual disabilities, advanced age, motor deficit, etc.) and serves as a great help to patients, caregivers and professionals related to the patient with an ostomy.
MATERIAL
The guide is presented in plasticized paper brochure format. It explains the main doubts that the ostomized patient usually raises through the use of explanations in easy reading with the support of pictograms. With the collaboration of ARASAAC, specific pictograms have been made to graphically represent the reality experienced by the patient.
It is portable and easy to carry and consult anywhere.
To facilitate the achievement of the steps for the cleaning of the ostomy, the specific pages that explain this process can be downloaded and printed independently of the brochure.
From ARASAAC, we want to convey our congratulations to all the people and institutions involved in this initiative and our gratitude for trusting in our pictograms to carry out this great project.
